Curious what people think. Been living here since 2020. The unemployment rate is 1.6%, which is pretty low. With a population of 1,931, Lake Isabella is a small town. Homes are going for about $176,800 on average. Household incomes average around $76,923 in Lake Isabella. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Property taxes are high but you get good services. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The city has invested a lot in new development. The suburbs are where most families end up. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.
