Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Charlotte about 8 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and family.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Diverse dining options
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Not very walkable outside downtown
Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are stable, gas is better than expected.
Socially, the quality of life is solid. No regrets on my end..
