Why I chose Lake Los Angeles over bigger cities

Hi all, I'm retired and Average temperature is around 64--F, so the weather is moderate. You can expect to pay around $1,351 for rent here. Homes are going for about $284,800 on average. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The city has invested a lot in new development. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Pros:
- Nice parks and trails
- Good healthcare facilities
- Good internet infrastructure

Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Limited public transit
- Few job opportunities in some fields
- Mosquitoes and humidity
- Chain restaurants dominate
Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The weather takes some getting used to.
