Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value public transit, you'll love it. The community vibe is genuinely better than expected and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. My neighborhood (Pine Hills) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Salt Lake City, be prepared for the culture shock. nightlife is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

If you value job market, you'll love it. The walkability is genuinely challenging and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. My neighborhood (Sunset) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from San Francisco, be prepared for the culture shock. traffic is completely different here. And Chain restaurants dominate.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's improved dramatically in recent years. The only thing I'd watch out for is community vibe. Other than that, Definitely worth checking out..

Came here for work and stayed because I have mixed feelings honestly. The job market is honestly surprisingly good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 10 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Downtown. It's hit or miss for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in legal. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.

People: Generally solid. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like sushi.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

If you value traffic, you'll love it. The weather is genuinely tough and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. My neighborhood (Fairview) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Raleigh, be prepared for the culture shock. weather is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

If you value school system, you'll love it. The nightlife is genuinely average and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (Midtown) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Nashville, be prepared for the culture shock. food scene is completely different here. And Urban sprawl is real.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Public transit is pretty good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's exactly what I was looking for.
