Random thought, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and The unemployment rate is 1.6%, which is pretty low. Median household income is $116,944, which feels pretty solid for the area. The suburbs are where most families end up. The weather takes some getting used to. Is this normal for Lake Mary? Thanks in advance! Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The weather takes some getting used to. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Compared to Minneapolis it's underrated.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a lawyer who relocated here from Seattle about 5 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good internet infrastructure
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Far from beaches/mountains
Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are pricey, gas is challenging.
Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Weather-wise, the summers are improving and winters are stable. You get used to it after the first year.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are underrated, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

The food scene here is tough. Tons of great Southern places. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

I'm a sales manager and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. The community is average and there's always something going on.
