Property taxes are high but you get good services. Should I be concerned? Cheers. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Came here for weather and stayed because it's exactly what I was looking for. The safety is honestly excellent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Hot take but I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. I know a lot of people disagree but after 8 years here, that's my honest assessment.

My experience has been mostly positive. the quality of life is solid. The only thing I'd watch out for is food scene. Other than that, Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Bought a house here in 2017 and it exceeded my expectations. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value housing market, you'll love it. The job market is genuinely solid and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (The Heights) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from New York, be prepared for the culture shock. dating scene is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
