Should I move to Lake Murray of Richland or stay in Chicago?

First post here. Just moved here 8 months ago and The unemployment rate is 2.0%, which is pretty low. Rent is about $1,682/month for a decent place. You can expect to pay around $1,682 for rent here. The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

As someone who grew up here, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. A lot has changed in the past few years though. job market used to be much affordable but now it's surprisingly good.

Bought a house here in 2021 and it's exactly what I was looking for. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

We moved here with our family and it was the best decision I ever made. Schools in The Heights area are underrated. Kids love it here.
