Is public transit usable in Lake Park?

Longtime lurker here, My family moved here when I was a kid. Rent is about $1,396/month for a decent place. You can expect to pay around $1,396 for rent here. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The city has invested a lot in new development. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.

I've been here 14 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is weather. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is hit or miss.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The The Heights side vs the Cedar Grove side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Weather-wise, the summers are surprisingly good and winters are wild. You get used to it after the first year.

Came here for school and stayed because I'm still on the fence after all this time. The pet-friendliness is honestly average and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Bought a house here in 2024 and it's exactly what I was looking for. Property values have gone about the same since then.

Used to live on the Highland side, now on the Downtown side. Completely different vibe. it was the best decision I ever made.
