Hi all, I'm originally from St. Louis and You can expect to pay around $975 for rent here. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Thoughts? The weather takes some getting used to. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Property taxes are high but you get good services. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

The food scene here is challenging. Tons of great Mediterranean places. I genuinely enjoy living here.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.
I've been here 9 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is dating scene. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is surprisingly good.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Westside side vs the Uptown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Public transit is surprisingly good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Dallas and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in East. It's challenging for what you get.
Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in marketing. If you're in consulting you might struggle.
People: Generally excellent. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Korean.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..
