Is Lake Ridge worth moving to in 2026?

Alright, Been living here since 2024. Poverty rate is 4.4%, which is pretty low. You can expect to pay around $2,011 for rent here. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Does this match your experience?

Hot take but I genuinely enjoy living here. I know a lot of people disagree but after 13 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. it exceeded my expectations. Compared to Tampa it's challenging.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Westside. It's decent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.

People: Generally tough. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

Came here for cost of living and stayed because it was the best decision I ever made. The weather is honestly surprisingly good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
