Hi all, It's a a smaller city city with about 45,007 people. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Thoughts? TIA! The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Hot take but I have mixed feelings honestly. I know a lot of people disagree but after 5 years here, that's my honest assessment.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are surprisingly good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want pet-friendliness, then yeah this place is great. But if outdoor recreation matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value dating scene, you'll love it. The school system is genuinely solid and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. My neighborhood (Pine Hills) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Houston, be prepared for the culture shock. traffic is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
