Remote worker thinking about Lake Ridge

I'm single, late 20s, and Rent is about $2,011/month for a decent place. You can expect to pay around $2,011 for rent here. With a population of 45,007, Lake Ridge is a smaller city. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The weather takes some getting used to. The suburbs are where most families end up.

Hot take but I have mixed feelings honestly. I know a lot of people disagree but after 12 years here, that's my honest assessment.
