Career opportunities in Lake Ronkonkoma, NY

Hi all, I'm a remote worker and The median home value here is around $484,700, which is pretty steep. Median household income is $102,608, which feels pretty solid for the area. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The city has invested a lot in new development. Would love some local perspective. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Came here for family and stayed because it's improved dramatically in recent years. The walkability is honestly underrated and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
