Hey, Household incomes average around $127,453 in Lake Shore. Average temperature is around 56--F, so the weather is moderate. Rent is about $1,793/month for a decent place. The median home value here is around $471,500, which is pretty steep. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Pros:
- Affordable cost of living
- Friendly people
- Low crime in most areas
- Active local events
- Good airport connections

Cons:
- Cold winters

What would you do? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The food scene here is better than expected. Tons of great seafood places. I have mixed feelings honestly.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Cedar Grove for 1 years. Moved from Chicago for retirement. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is tough. We bought in 2020 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.

**Employment:**
real estate is strong here. tech is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are competitive for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's improved dramatically in recent years. The outdoor scene is underrated - we have state parks within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Cedar Grove schools are hit or miss. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Not a lot of cultural diversity. Dating scene is rough. And school system can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For families, I'd say this is a 5/10. Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. I love the pace of life here. Compared to Baltimore it's better than expected.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are pretty good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is public transit. I love the pace of life here. Worth doing your research before committing.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.

I've been here 4 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is school system. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is improving.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Fairview side vs the Riverside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I've been living here for 10 years and I'd say I have mixed feelings honestly. The community vibe is underrated compared to other places I've lived. Overall It's not for everyone but it works for us..
