How is the nightlife in Lake St. Louis?

Hi all, I'm retired and Household incomes average around $123,427 in Lake St. Louis. With a population of 17,538, Lake St. Louis is a small town. You can expect to pay around $1,608 for rent here. Homes are going for about $375,300 on average. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Property taxes are high but you get good services. I've lived in Midtown for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from LA, I was surprised by healthcare. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Lots of new development happening
- The cost of living scene is decent

The downsides:
- Limited entertainment options
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for young professionals. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.

I've been here 9 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is cultural scene. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the school system is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Midtown side vs the Cedar Grove side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..
