Hey everyone, I'm a remote worker and Household incomes average around $118,290 in Lake Stevens. It's a a smaller city city with about 39,500 people. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Is this normal for Lake Stevens? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The city has invested a lot in new development.

I've been living here for 12 years and I'd say it's been a really good experience overall. The cultural scene is underrated compared to other places I've lived. Overall Hope this helps!.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a social worker who relocated here from Chicago about 15 years ago. The main reasons were family and cost of living.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Good internet infrastructure
- Active local events and festivals
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are stable, gas is solid.
Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Definitely worth checking out..

I've lived in Midtown for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Houston, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good healthcare facilities
- The cultural scene scene is hit or miss
The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for couples. Definitely worth checking out..
