Anyone else feel this way? I grew up here but left for a while. You can expect to pay around $1,060 for rent here. Crime rate is something to consider -Lake Wales sits at 325.4 per 100K. Median household income is $55,799, which feels about average for the area. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Should I be concerned? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The suburbs are where most families end up. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The weather takes some getting used to. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.
