Affordable areas near Lake Wisconsin?

I'm a 48-year-old contractor and Average temperature is around 47--F, so expect cold winters. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.
