Hey everyone, I'm single, late 30s, and It's a a smaller city city with about 42,650 people. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. What neighborhoods would you suggest? TIA! People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Came here for a job opportunity and stayed because the quality of life is solid. The dating scene is honestly improving and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Came here for cost of living and stayed because it exceeded my expectations. The school system is honestly excellent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value safety, you'll love it. The healthcare is genuinely surprisingly good and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. My neighborhood (Midtown) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Miami, be prepared for the culture shock. pet-friendliness is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
