Hello, My family moved here when I was a kid. Household incomes average around $112,113 in Lake Wylie. It's a a small town city with about 15,177 people. The weather takes some getting used to. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Anyone in a similar situation? Thanks for reading. The suburbs are where most families end up. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from Minneapolis and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Meadowbrook. It's decent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in legal. If you're in government you might struggle.
People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Italian.
