Rent vs buy in Lakehurst -what makes sense?

Hey everyone, I'm single, late 20s, and Crime rate is something to consider -Lakehurst sits at 185.1 per 100K. Poverty rate is 10.8%, which is around average. Rent is about $1,637/month for a decent place. Median household income is $80,458, which feels pretty solid for the area. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The city has invested a lot in new development. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

As someone who grew up here, I love the pace of life here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. weather used to be much stable but now it's pretty good.

I've been living here for 1 years and I'd say it was the best decision I ever made. The traffic is better than expected compared to other places I've lived. Overall Good luck with whatever you decide..
