Anyone else love living in Lakes of the Four Seasons?
Hello, I'm single, late 20s, and Crime rate is something to consider -Lakes of the Four Seasons sits at 333.2 per 100K. Poverty rate is 3.4%, which is pretty low. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Should I be concerned? It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Riverside for 4 years. Moved from Salt Lake City for weather. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is excellent. We bought in 2022 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts.
**Employment:**
retail is strong here. legal is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are reasonable for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The outdoor scene is improving - we have beaches within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Riverside schools are excellent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Urban sprawl is real. Property taxes are high. And housing market can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**

I'm a data analyst who relocated here from Tampa about 15 years ago. The main reasons were work and cost of living.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good schools in most areas
- Affordable housing options
Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Limited high-paying job options
Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are affordable, gas is surprisingly good.
Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Hope this helps!.

Background: I'm a lawyer, 53, moved here 4 years ago from San Francisco. I've lived in South and Eastside, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Nice parks and green spaces
2. Four distinct seasons
3. Diverse dining options
4. The people are generally tough - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Not very walkable outside downtown
2. Road conditions need improvement
3. The food scene situation is growing and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**

- Eastside: More affordable, family-friendly.
