How is Lakeside CDP (San Diego County) for outdoor activities?

Alright, I'm a remote worker and You can expect to pay around $1,976 for rent here. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, the quality of life is solid. Hope this helps!.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. it's been a really good experience overall. Compared to Charlotte it's decent.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value school system, you'll love it. The safety is genuinely challenging and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. My neighborhood (Lakewood) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Chicago, be prepared for the culture shock. cost of living is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

If you value community vibe, you'll love it. The nightlife is genuinely average and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (East) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from San Diego, be prepared for the culture shock. housing market is completely different here. And Chain restaurants dominate.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a nurse who relocated here from Houston about 6 years ago. The main reasons were family and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Nice parks and green spaces

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Dating scene is rough

Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are reasonable, gas is pretty good.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. No regrets on my end..

Came here for work and stayed because it's been a really good experience overall. The school system is honestly tough and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

My experience has been mostly positive. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The only thing I'd watch out for is safety. Other than that, Feel free to reach out with questions..
