Lakeview is underrated, change my mind

Hey everyone, Been living here since 2020. The unemployment rate is 3.1%, which is pretty low. The median home value here is around $492,100, which is pretty steep. Rent is about $1,528/month for a decent place. With a population of 2,177, Lakeview is a small town. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Pros:
- Affordable cost of living
- Friendly people
- Lots of new development
- Plenty of shopping options
- Good airport connections

Cons:
- Limited public transit
- Limited dining options
- Mosquitoes and humidity
Does this match your experience? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Midtown for 12 years. Moved from Tampa for a job opportunity. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is pretty good. We bought in 2016 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts.

**Employment:**
engineering is strong here. healthcare is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are reasonable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I have mixed feelings honestly. The outdoor scene is improving - we have mountains within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Midtown schools are hit or miss. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Traffic during rush hour is rough. Limited high-paying job options. And dating scene can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For singles, I'd say this is a 8/10. Good luck with whatever you decide.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
