Military spouse here. Poverty rate is 2.0%, which is pretty low. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. TIA! There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The suburbs are where most families end up.

We moved here with our family and the quality of life is solid. Schools in Cedar Grove area are decent. Kids love it here.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value housing market, you'll love it. The public transit is genuinely decent and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (Eastside) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Denver, be prepared for the culture shock. public transit is completely different here. And Not very walkable outside downtown.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I'm a real estate agent and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The community is pretty good and there's always something going on.

Hot take but I love the pace of life here. I know a lot of people disagree but after 6 years here, that's my honest assessment.
