Quick question about Lakeville

Alright, Rent is about $1,727/month for a decent place. With a population of 72,480, Lakeville is a smaller city. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. What do you all think? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. it's been a really good experience overall. Compared to Raleigh it's improving.

Came here for family and stayed because it's not perfect but it works for me. The walkability is honestly decent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in West for 2 years. Moved from Charlotte for family. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is hit or miss. We bought in 2021 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.

**Employment:**
retail is strong here. engineering is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are wild for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it exceeded my expectations. The outdoor scene is excellent - we have rivers within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. West schools are decent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Property taxes are high. Can feel isolated. And cost of living can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For young professionals, I'd say this is a 9/10. Feel free to reach out with questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Highland. It's better than expected for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in tech. If you're in legal you might struggle.

People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Denver and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Lakewood. It's decent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in education. If you're in retail you might struggle.

People: Generally average. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Southern.

Hope this helps!.
