What I wish I knew before living in Lakeville

First post here. I'm single, late 30s, and You can expect to pay around $1,727 for rent here. The unemployment rate is 1.8%, which is pretty low. Average temperature is around 46--F, so expect cold winters. The median home value here is around $425,200, which is pretty steep. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The city has invested a lot in new development. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. What do you all think? The suburbs are where most families end up. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The city has invested a lot in new development.

I've lived in West for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Houston, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Affordable housing options
- Good airport with direct flights
- The pet-friendliness scene is better than expected

The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for remote workers. No regrets on my end..
