Pros and cons of Lakeway after 7 years

The median home value here is around $695,400, which is pretty steep. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Let me know your thoughts. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

The food scene here is tough. Tons of great Indian places. it's not perfect but it works for me.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

I've been here 2 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is healthcare. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cultural scene is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The The Heights side vs the Uptown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Chicago and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Greenfield. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in tech. If you're in retail you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like Korean.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..
