Hey folks, Homes are going for about $774,100 on average. Poverty rate is 4.0%, which is pretty low. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Does this match your experience?

I'm a marketing manager and I've found the quality of life is solid. The community is underrated and there's always something going on.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Midtown. It's hit or miss for what you get.
Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in legal. If you're in legal you might struggle.
People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: average. Tons of options if you like Indian.
Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Came here for a job opportunity and stayed because I genuinely enjoy living here. The pet-friendliness is honestly better than expected and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Hot take but it's not perfect but it works for me. I know a lot of people disagree but after 4 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Came here for weather and stayed because it's exactly what I was looking for. The food scene is honestly solid and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Used to live on the Uptown side, now on the West side. Completely different vibe. I love the pace of life here.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.
I've been here 14 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the walkability is legit. And if you're into running, this place is tough.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Highland side vs the Eastside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Definitely worth checking out..

As someone who grew up here, it was the best decision I ever made. A lot has changed in the past few years though. traffic used to be much developing but now it's tough.
