Is Lakewood still affordable?

Alright, Just moved here 7 months ago and Poverty rate is 4.0%, which is pretty low. With a population of 80,510, Lakewood is a smaller city. The city has invested a lot in new development. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The suburbs are where most families end up. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The city has invested a lot in new development. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The weather takes some getting used to. Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from Phoenix about 2 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Active local events and festivals

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are affordable, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
