Rent vs buy in Lakewood — what makes sense?

Anyone else feel this way? We're a young couple and Rent is about $1,746/month for a decent place. With a population of 156K, Lakewood is a mid-size city. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The city has invested a lot in new development. What would you do? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The weather takes some getting used to. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

As someone who grew up here, I genuinely enjoy living here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. public transit used to be much competitive but now it's excellent.
