Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.

I've been here 10 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is walkability. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Fairview side vs the Highland side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a social worker who relocated here from Pittsburgh about 7 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Good internet infrastructure
- Active local events and festivals

Cons that are real:
- Limited entertainment options
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are developing, gas is underrated.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Definitely worth checking out..
