Is Lakewood getting better or worse?

Random thought, Rent is about $1,013/month for a decent place.

Public transit is solid here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I love the pace of life here.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Midtown. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in government. If you're in engineering you might struggle.

People: Generally tough. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like Korean.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want school system, then yeah this place is great. But if healthcare matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
