Why I chose Lakewood over bigger cities
First post here. I'm retired and Appreciate any input. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Raleigh about 2 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and family.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good internet infrastructure
Cons that are real:
- Limited shopping options
- Far from beaches/mountains
Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are pricey, gas is average.
Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
