How is Lakewood for outdoor activities?

I'm a remote worker and Crime rate is something to consider -Lakewood sits at 756.8 per 100K. The unemployment rate is 3.2%, which is pretty low. The median home value here is around $420,500, which is pretty steep. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The suburbs are where most families end up. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The suburbs are where most families end up. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The city has invested a lot in new development. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from Seattle and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Downtown. It's hit or miss for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in retail. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally improving. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like BBQ.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
