Lakewood housing prices -when will it stop?

Military spouse here. Rent is about $1,460/month for a decent place. Median household income is $70,524, which feels about average for the area. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

I work in construction here and the quality of life is solid. The job market for my field is tough. Definitely worth checking out..

Weather-wise, the summers are better than expected and winters are reasonable. You get used to it after the first year.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are decent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I've lived in Lakewood for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Salt Lake City, I was surprised by dating scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Lots of new development happening
- The weather scene is improving

The downsides:
- Limited entertainment options
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for singles. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
