Best areas to explore in Lamont?

I'm a college student here and Rent is about $982/month for a decent place. The weather takes some getting used to. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. What would you do? The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Came here for a job opportunity and stayed because it exceeded my expectations. The public transit is honestly solid and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
