Is Lancaster getting better or worse?

I'm originally from Orlando and It's a a mid-size city city with about 170K people. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. What neighborhoods would you suggest? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are hit or miss, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from LA and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Fairview. It's tough for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.

People: Generally excellent. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like BBQ.

I've lived in Riverside for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Tampa, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Active local events and festivals
- The walkability scene is solid

The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Limited entertainment options

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for remote workers. Feel free to reach out with questions..
