Hey folks, Rent is about $1,696/month for a decent place. With a population of 170K, Lancaster is a mid-size city. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Worth the trade-offs? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Property taxes are high but you get good services. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The weather takes some getting used to.

I've lived in Downtown for about 6 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Minneapolis, I was surprised by dating scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Strong job market in several industries
- The housing market scene is tough
The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Limited entertainment options
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for remote workers. Feel free to reach out with questions..
