What to expect moving to Lancaster?
Longtime lurker here, We're a young couple and Rent is about $1,696/month for a decent place. Crime rate is something to consider — Lancaster sits at 852.9 per 100K. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Cheers. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The city has invested a lot in new development. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The city has invested a lot in new development. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The food scene here is surprisingly good. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.
