Just moved to Lancaster, any tips?

Anyone else feel this way? I'm a nurse at the local hospital and It's a a small town city with about 10,127 people. Rent is about $839/month for a decent place. Median household income is $63,902, which feels about average for the area. The unemployment rate is 0.8%, which is pretty low. The city has invested a lot in new development. The suburbs are where most families end up. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from San Francisco and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Highland. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in retail you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: tough. Tons of options if you like Asian.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..
