I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is pet-friendliness. it was the best decision I ever made. Worth doing your research before committing.

As someone who grew up here, I'm still on the fence after all this time. A lot has changed in the past few years though. cultural scene used to be much stable but now it's average.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from LA and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Meadowbrook. It's excellent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in government. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally tough. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Italian.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it was the best decision I ever made. Internet is surprisingly good in most areas.

The food scene here is improving. Tons of great Italian places. I have mixed feelings honestly.

I've lived in East for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Pittsburgh, I was surprised by healthcare. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Affordable housing options
- The food scene scene is challenging

The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for families. Hope this helps!.
