I've been living here for 7 years and I'd say there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The job market is improving compared to other places I've lived. Overall Feel free to reach out with questions..

Used to live on the Old Town side, now on the South side. Completely different vibe. it's exactly what I was looking for.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Compared to Salt Lake City it's decent.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a nurse who relocated here from LA about 14 years ago. The main reasons were school and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Limited entertainment options

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are reasonable, gas is excellent.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Definitely worth checking out..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from Portland and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Springfield. It's improving for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in finance. If you're in engineering you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..
