Starting a business in Lancaster?

Longtime lurker here, I grew up here but left for a while. Crime rate is something to consider -Lancaster sits at 679.3 per 100K. Household incomes average around $63,421 in Lancaster. It's a a smaller city city with about 57,683 people. The unemployment rate is 5.4%, which is about average. The median home value here is around $203,700, which is actually reasonable. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The weather takes some getting used to. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.

I've been here 14 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the healthcare is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is hit or miss.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Meadowbrook side vs the Lakewood side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..
