I've been living here for 6 years and I'd say the quality of life is solid. The nightlife is average compared to other places I've lived. Overall Happy to answer more specific questions..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value outdoor recreation, you'll love it. The housing market is genuinely surprisingly good and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. My neighborhood (Meadowbrook) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Austin, be prepared for the culture shock. dating scene is completely different here. And Property taxes are high.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Hope this helps!.

Bought a house here in 2018 and it's improved dramatically in recent years. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

My experience has been mostly positive. it was the best decision I ever made. The only thing I'd watch out for is housing market. Other than that, Good luck with whatever you decide..

I've lived in Sunset for about 6 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Minneapolis, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Lots of new development happening
- The cost of living scene is solid

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for couples. Good luck with whatever you decide..

I've lived in Maple Ridge for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from Miami, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Four distinct seasons
- Close to major attractions
- The public transit scene is solid

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Homeless population growing downtown

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for retirees. Hope this helps!.

I work in government here and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The job market for my field is underrated. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Hot take but it was the best decision I ever made. I know a lot of people disagree but after 8 years here, that's my honest assessment.

The food scene here is challenging. Tons of great Korean places. I love the pace of life here.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's exactly what I was looking for. Internet is hit or miss in most areas.
