Lannon vs Albuquerque -which is better?

Alright, The median home value here is around $255,900, which seems about average. Household incomes average around $79,191 in Lannon. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Pros:
- Nice parks and trails
- Low crime in most areas
- Good schools
- Good healthcare facilities
- Good internet infrastructure

Cons:
- Sprawl everywhere
- Homelessness issues downtown
- Not enough green space
Should I be concerned? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The weather takes some getting used to. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Houston and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in North. It's better than expected for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in government. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.

People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

Hope this helps!.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a social worker, 25, moved here 4 years ago from San Diego. I've lived in Springfield and The Heights, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Growing food and restaurant scene
2. Low crime in most neighborhoods
3. Good healthcare facilities
4. The people are generally excellent - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Rising rent and home prices
2. Property taxes are high
3. The cost of living situation is stable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Springfield: Great for retirees. hit or miss vibes, walkable.
- The Heights: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from San Diego, everything felt excellent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are manageable. Gas is wild. You can live comfortably on $60K-$150K here.

**Final verdict:**
Feel free to reach out with questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Public transit is decent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I genuinely enjoy living here.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value nightlife, you'll love it. The pet-friendliness is genuinely solid and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (Sunset) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Baltimore, be prepared for the culture shock. school system is completely different here. And Limited shopping options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I've been living here for 4 years and I'd say it's exactly what I was looking for. The outdoor recreation is solid compared to other places I've lived. Overall Happy to answer more specific questions..
