Rent is about $1,390/month for a decent place. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Am I overthinking this? Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is job market. I love the pace of life here. Worth doing your research before committing.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a pharmacist, 28, moved here 9 years ago from Salt Lake City. I've lived in Downtown and Fairview, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Good schools in most areas
2. Good internet infrastructure
3. Close to major attractions
4. The people are generally excellent - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Not very walkable outside downtown
2. Chain restaurants dominate
3. The nightlife situation is pricey and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Downtown: Great for retirees. average vibes, walkable.
- Fairview: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Salt Lake City, everything felt underrated. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are developing. Gas is reasonable. You can live comfortably on $40K-$70K here.
**Final verdict:**

Weather-wise, the summers are solid and winters are manageable. You get used to it after the first year.
