What surprised you most about Lansdowne?

OK so Homes are going for about $199,200 on average. What are your go-to spots? Appreciate any input.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. I love the pace of life here. Compared to Tampa it's improving.

The food scene here is tough. Tons of great Korean places. the quality of life is solid.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 15 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the walkability is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Fairview side vs the Meadowbrook side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

As someone who grew up here, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. A lot has changed in the past few years though. healthcare used to be much reasonable but now it's excellent.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Raleigh about 9 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good internet infrastructure
- Active local events and festivals

Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Limited shopping options

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are developing, gas is solid.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Feel free to reach out with questions..
