Is Lansdowne still affordable?

Longtime lurker here, Just moved here 15 months ago and Household incomes average around $180,379 in Lansdowne. The median home value here is around $753,600, which is pretty steep. Average temperature is around 56--F, so the weather is moderate. Crime rate is something to consider -Lansdowne sits at 118.6 per 100K. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Pros:
- Good schools
- Close to nature
- Low taxes
- Lots of new development
- Good healthcare facilities

Cons:
- Hot summers
- High property taxes
- Few job opportunities in some fields
- Poor road conditions
The city has invested a lot in new development. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The suburbs are where most families end up. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The suburbs are where most families end up. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Used to live on the North side, now on the Meadowbrook side. Completely different vibe. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

Came here for retirement and stayed because it's exactly what I was looking for. The food scene is honestly pretty good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

I've been here 12 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is cultural scene. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the weather is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is hit or miss.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Sunset side vs the Oak Park side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Atlanta and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Fairview. It's excellent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in education. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Southern.

Feel free to reach out with questions..
