Remote worker thinking about Lansing
So, I'm single, late 20s, and Rent is about $1,271/month for a decent place. It's a a smaller city city with about 28,415 people. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The suburbs are where most families end up. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.
